EDWARD BANKS, Mary's father,  was baptised in 1730 and died in 1784 aged 54 At the baptism of his daughter Mary he was described as a carpenter of Bispham. Her mother Jane was born in 1733 and died in 1818 aged 85   Edward and Jane Banks had several children.

Mary Banks was baptised 10th Feb 1760 and married George Lewtas on 1st August 1784 aged 24 in St Chad’s Poulton. She died in 1827 aged 67 and is buried at St Chad’s.  Mary was the sister of Robert, Thomas and Henry Banks;  by marriage they became related to the Bailey, Topping, Cocker and Thornber families

Her brother Robert Banks was baptised in 1762  and died in 1838 aged 76. He married Ellen Bailey on 29th December 1808.  Robert’s will, signed 26th April 1838, gives great detail of the family connections.
